The David O. McKay Center

I'm Ashley Rae Kempler. I was raised in Bluffdale, Utah. I graduated with my associate's degree from Dixie State University and then transferred to Brigham Young University Hawaii. I enjoy outdoor activities such as rock climbing, boating, fourwheeling, camping, and snowmobiling. I enjoy service and I'm the Rotaract President on campus. Last year I met my husband here and we were married in the Salt Lake City Temple this past December. I am an International Cultural Studies major with an emphasis in Peacebuilding and Communications. I am the field director for the McKay Center over WeFacilitate. Currently we are focusing on a project that has to do with the relationships of the married couples at our school. We are holding seminars that help the couples learn how to deal with conflict in a positive way that helps promote "Peace in the Home," which is the title of the project. Our goal is to help alleviate the problems between married couples and help them grow stronger, longer lasting relationships. I love working with the couples and watching them grow. I hope to continue to grow this area and eventually move it to helping couples in the community as well. I have learned so much from working in this area and I look forward to continue to learn and grow as the project does.
